The InStep Quick NZ Bicycle Trailer is a great way to take your child for a bike ride or jog. The trailer can be made completely weatherproof (in terms of rain and wind) in case you come across a stray rain shower on your ride/run. It is easy to set-up on your bike using a quick pin connection. Other features- – Easy to connect to your bike, once you have the quick release through the spindle – Can fit two children (although it is a tight fit) – Rolls smoothly – Reflective design – it is very easy to see on the road A few drawbacks – Your child sits on the canvas – there is not a hard seat – I am not a huge fan of the safety restraints – they are not designed with comfort in mind. – Unless it is folded down this thing takes up a lot of space. Final Verdict – A great option for a pul behind trailer – while it doesn’t look too comfortable it is a great way to take your child along for a ride!
www.discountramps.com Take the kids for your next bike ride with this 2 seat kids bike trailer. The sturdy, lightweight frame features a silver powder coated finish, while the cabin is made from a bright orange material with reflective strips for added safety. For even more visibility the child bike trailer has a 68″ high orange safety flag. The large pneumatic tires soak up the bumps and make for a smooth ride for your little ones. The universal mount system allows you to mount the bike trailer to virtually any bike in a few minutes so you’re ready to ride in no time. www.discountramps.com
The bike is a ladies Raleigh bike with serial number D75871 so it was made between 1925 and 1937. It has a robin hood badge and also has the Raleigh badge at the front which means its extremely rare. It also has a leather brooks saddle with is embossed at the side. But the most interesting thing is the carrier on the rear mudguard which opens on either side like a pair of overlapping gates. The bike is completely original except from the tires and a few spokes that were replaced. The bike is regularly used and is in extremely good condition. If anyone would have any information on finding the bikes worth or if anyone knows a website that I could advertise this I would be very appreciative. I know that the saddle alone is worth €150 and the entire bike is worth close to €1000 at least. I am in Ireland so if anyone knows a bicycle valuer or collector in Ireland i would again be greatly appreciative. Thank You:)

My husband and I are thinking about having a baby sometime in the next couple years. Money is tight, in part because my husband only works part-time. I teach at a year-round school, so I have about 11 weeks off from work, but they are scattered throughout the year. The upside to our situation is that we wouldn’t need as much childcare. The downside is that most childcare services would still make us pay for most of the days that we wouldn’t need them.
We’d want to put them into preschool pretty early — there is one in our area that I am really interested in and it starts at around 1.5 years of age. So we’d only be looking for part-time childcare for the first year and a half.
My question is this — do you think that it would work to ask my in-laws to care for the baby during this time? My father in law is unemployed and is going kind of stir crazy. My mother in law is a teacher, but not on the same schedule as my school. So basically my husband would care for the baby 2 days a week all year round, my father in law would care for the baby 3 days a week for 41 weeks out of the year and he’d have help from my mother in law for about 5 of those weeks while she is on summer break and I am not. I would care for the baby for the 11 weeks that I’d have off each year (and my husband and I would both be home with the baby 2 days a week during those breaks).
So, all in all, we’d be asking for about a thousand hours of childcare a year from my in-laws. Do you think that this is a reasonable thing to bring up before getting pregnant? Do you think they’d feel awkward about saying no? They are both pretty energetic (they go kayaking, running, biking, etc), so I am confident that they’d have lots of energy to keep up with the baby, but I’m also worried that we’d be "cramping their style" because it’s hard to do those things with a baby. I mean, you can take a baby on a bicycle if you have one of those carrier things, but I wouldn’t want them to take a baby in a kayak!
They LOVE me and their children. What would you do? Would you ask them before getting pregnant? It seems like kind of a loaded question: "Will you watch our kid for 25-ish hours a week? If not, we aren’t sure that we can afford to have kids…." We don’t really talk to them about having kids because they are the type that would get really excited and really worried at the same time. But I’m equally scared of getting pregnant assuming that they’d do it for us and then finding out that it would be a huge burden on them. Would you bring up compensation? It might take some of the edge off of my father-in-law being unemployed, but it might also make them feel awkward (they rarely let us pay for things, even though we know that they are stressed about money).
They also live about 40 minutes away from us. It isn’t a bad drive, but it isn’t fun either. My husband and I both live a 20 minute walk from our respective workplaces. Would you recommend that we get up early and drive down there to drop off the baby? Or would it make more sense to ask our father-in-law to come up and care for the baby in our home? It would mean less time and gas for my husband (and it would potentially mean that we wouldn’t need as many hours of childcare) but it would also mean that my father-in-law wouldn’t be able to be in his own home.
I’d really like some advice on this. Thanks so much!

I’m flying my brother to New Orleans (ABQ to MSY) in June of 2008. He is a bicycling enthusiast and would like to bring his Fixie with him, also it’s way cheaper than renting a car. I’ve never flown with or checked a bicycle. I understand that most airlines will allow you to check a bicycle as opposed to an extra piece of luggage as long as it’s packed a certain way. I’m currently looking at either Continental or Delta for his flight. My main point of confusion is the new fee for an additional piece of luggage. I’ve read that this fee is only incurred when flying with multiple carriers for one trip. He will be flying one way and most flights I’ve looked at are single carrier. If he checks one piece of luggage and his bike, plus whatever additonal carry on he happens to have, does this fee apply? I am trying my best to make this flight as inexpensive as possible.

i want to buy a bicycle so i can ride with my daughter, but i like mountain bikes, but do not know and can’t find info about attaching a child seat?
i live on the beach and would like to drive around here, no bike trailers … and i would not hit mountain bike trails, we tried it at my friend bike and my daughter loved sitting behind me. i would just like to know if i can put the carrier on a mountain bike, since i like the design.
