in order of mention in poem 1,2,3…8,9,10,11
First part of poem to the rhythm of “Tuesday Afternoon
Upfront and Center with the Moody Blues
Tues…..day Af…ter..noon
In just three days…..real soon
I’ll be see…ing the Moody Blues
If I leave work early you can sue
It’s…at the Tole..do Zoo
And that is real cool
Fri….day, af..ter work
Pizza I’m gouging down with a smirk
I’m on my way
It’s not just another day
Park…ing is five dollars more
Oh well, I’m about to soar
Two miles….what a hike
Wish I had me my bike
Beer, wine, ‘Rita tix another 5 each
Give me three – do the ‘Ritas come in peach?
Got the so-called cheap seats
Oh well…speakers to me reach
8-year-old girl getting down
Like a go-go dancer not a clown
Some hippies really in the groove
Mushrooms help to make it smooth
In….ter….mission
Serves a real mission
Give me another ‘Rita
Good idea, don’t think ya?
Then I hear a strange voice
“Soc, Holy bleep. I’m giving you a choice”
Friend from school
He’s real cool
Has 2 extra tickets in section price high
To the cheap seats we say goodbye
Ah…this is nice
Got the good seats without paying the price
Look at the poor smucks
In cheap seats – they are without luck
Look at the chick playing flute
With her I can toot
Yeah with her I would like to score
Ah, music that is, did you think more?
Soc is just a singer in a rock and roll band
Soc can sing along – yeah he can
This band really roooocks
Unlike Crystal Bowersoooox
(link to pix of when I saw Crystal:

In front we released our inner child
The crowd went wild
Moody Blues we did adore
We let out a mighty roar
Announce that the drummer just turned sixty-nine!
He claims not passed his prime
But when it comes to drummers I see not one
I count one…two, my mind does run
Timothy Leary’s dead
Looks like he fell down on his head
Ambulance takes him to hospital
He left with his pal
Nights in White Satin
(Other words
I forget that’s absurd)
But I love you…yeah, yeah I doooooo
But I love you…yeah, yeah I doooooo
A few more ‘I love you’s
A few more ‘I do’s
Tuesday afternoon,
I’m just beginning to see, now I’m on my way
It doesn’t matter to me, chasing the clouds away.
Something, calls to me,
The trees are drawing me near, I’ve got to find out why?
Those gentle voices I hear, explain it all with a siiiiiigh.
I look around and half the crowd is hiiiiigh
I’m looking at myself reflections of my mind,
It’s just the kind of day to leave myself behind.
So gently swaying through the fairyland of love,
If you’ll just come with me you’ll see the beauty of
Tuesday afternoon, Tuesday afternoon.
Babe with the flute
Is doing solo – my mind it does suit
OMG how I would like to score
Into my heart a rip she has tore
Why do we never get an answer
When we’re knocking at the door?
With a thousand million questions
About hate and death and war.
Why won’t she tell me if after the show
Into her dressing room I might go
Why does Soc never get an answer?
Ohmmmm…ohmmmmm…..
From ’64 album they hummm
Let’s get out the flowers
and prayer to their powers
Psych…edleic lights of blue and pink
Just enjoy…..do not think
Ah, life is so much better
Up front and center
