Trip to Japan?

I’m gonna be working in Japan for a few months this summer and plan on bringing my road bike with me. Is it possible to disassemble it enough to fit a package small enough so I can drop it off at the airport as cargo luggage? Has anyone ever tried that? Or do I have to ship it with a seperate carrier? What are my options?

What do you think of this poem?

i didnt write it. its really sad, just warning you. it really touched my heart.

Her hair was up in a ponytail
Her favorite dress tied with a bow
Today was Daddy’s Day at school
And she couldn’t wait to go.
But her mommy tried to tell her,
That she probably should stay home.
Why the kids might not understand,
If she went to school alone.
      But she was not afraid;
She knew just what to say.
      What to tell her classmates
Of why he wasn’t there today.
      But still her mother worried,
For her to face this day alone.
And that was why once again,
She tried to keep her daughter home.
But the little girl went to school,
      Eager to tell them all.
About a dad she never sees,
      A dad who never calls.
There were daddies along the wall in back,
      For everyone to meet
      Children squirming impatently,
      Anxious in their seats.
One by one the teacher called,
      Each student from the class.
      To introduce their daddy,
      As seconds slowly passed.
At last the teacher called her name,
      Every child turned to stare.
      Each of them was searching,
For a man who wasn’t there.
      "Where’s her daddy at?"
She heard a boy call out.
      "She probably doesn’t have one"
      Another student dared to shout.
And from somewhere near the back,
      She heard a daddy say,
      "Looks like another deadbeat dad,
Too busy to waste his day."
The words did not offened her,
As she smiled up at her mom.
And looked back at her teacher,
Who told her to go on.
And with hands behind her back,
      Slowly she began to speak.
And out from the mouth of a child,
      Came words incredibly unique.
      "My daddy couldn’t be here,
Because he lives so far away.
But I know he wishes he could be,
Since this is such a special day.
And though you cannot meet him,
      I wanted you to know.
      All about my daddy,
And how much he loves me so.
He loved to tell me stories
He taught me to ride my bike.
He surprised me with pink roses,
And taught me to fly a kite.
We used to share fudge sundaes,
and ice cream in a cone.
And though you cannot see him,
      I’m not standing here alone.
Cause my daddy’s always with me
      Even though we are apart.
I know because he told me,
He’ll forever be in my heart."
With that, her little hand reached up,
      and lay across her chest.
      Feeling her own heartbeat,
      Beneath her favorite dress.
And from somewhere in the crowd of dads,
      Her mother stood in tears.
      Proudly watching her daughter,
Who was wise beyond her years.
For she stood up for the love
Of a man not in her life.
Doing what was best for her,
      Doing what was right.
And when she dropped her hand back down,
      Staring straight into the crowd.
She finished with a voice so soft,
But its message clear and loud.
"I love my daddy very much,
      He’s my shining star.
And if he could he’d be here,
      But heaven’s just too far.
You see he was a fireman
And died just this past year.
      When airplanes hit the towers
      And taught Americans to fear.
But sometimes when I close my eyes,
It’s like he never went away."
And then she closes her eyes,
And saw him there that day.
      And to her mother’s amazement,
      She witnessed with surprise.
A room full of daddies and children,
All starting to close their eyes.
Who knows what they say before them,
Who knows what they felt inside.
      Perhaps for merely a second,
They saw him at her side.
"I know you’re with me Daddy."
To the silence she called out.
And what happened next made believers,
Of those once filled with doubt.
Not one in that room could explain it,
For each of their eyes had been closed.
But there on the desk beside her,
Was a fragrant long-stemmed pink rose.
And a child was blessed, if only for a moment,
By the love of her shining bright star.
And given the gift of believing,
That heaven is never too far

I have a dog i thibnk she is sorta like a retriever of some kind maybe jack russel, but she is a big dog proboable 7 years old, from pup to 7 years is my guess, i was given to her from a friend who lived in the country and someone abandoned her and he took her in, he already has 2 dogs this made three, i went to visit sevral times I Am handicapped by the way my legs do not go all the way straight so that i could walk. so i am in a wheel chair most of the time. I needed the dog to help me was hoping since she seemed to be good arround me when i vistited, that she would make a good dog for me. MY problem is she learend very quickly how to hand shake, sit lay, bark, rolll, and beg at the begiin ing and she would bark to tell me she wanted in or out to go potty. well i have been trying to teach her to stay off my couch and my bed, and she stays off as long as i am in the room and paying attention to watch her, as soon as i turn my back to go any where wther it is in another room or to the kitchedn , she thinks she can go in any of the rooms that i made of limits and jump on my clean bed, i have told her no many times and had her go to the bed said no and lightly gave her a pat on the bottom, and said no treats next time. well she still refuses to listen and stay off when im not looking and thinks she can get away with it. just to day i was easting sat my food on the table top in the living room went to the other room to let some one in the back, she though she could go snatch my food even though she knew it was bad, and she did it any way i came back in the room noticed she had gotten it was eating it. I went over to her lifted her chin up and opend her mouht and took the food away and sorta spanked her lightly while saying no bad doggy and threw the food away. she wined and went to the other room oposite my bed room and tried to hid e iunder the guest bedroom. bed. and whined and whined. this is getting very frustrating, because she also does this any time i try to get her to mind me and go to the leash in my hand so that i can take her with me for walks while i drive my electric wheel chair scooter. i tried to get her to get imn a kid carrier that you use to pull behind your bike when you are riding and taking your kids, a friend gave me it to go shpping and carry my grocieries in it. well i tied to get her to get in it so i could take her with me and she persisted to be stubborn stay laying on the floor and prevnt me from lifting her up. this is the type if additude i am trying to erase from her or fix. can anyone help. she dont get doggy biscute bone treats when she is not minding . By the way id like to add that she strated this additude change when i went and got a leashe to take her oustside to potty, and started making that the rule, cause when ifiirst got her i didnt have a fince and or a leashe she would go out id let her run free and she would go wher evr she please to go potty and some times not come back for hours, because i coculdt chanse her, and she started developing the addittude change after i got the lease and made her start going out only that way from then on. sorta like she is being a spoiled bratt. and im getting sick of it.

          Bicycle trailer or carrier?

I’m not a hard-core cyclist, more like a fair-weather, stay on a paved trail in suburbia bike rider. My daughter will be one in the spring and loves to be outdoors, so I’d like to take her with us when we go. My main concern is crashing (she will have bike helmet). Which do you use and why?

                  4. How about driving behind someone on a main road and you see a toddler playing (standing up/sitting down) in the backseat, not in a seat, not even a seatbelt, and suddenly the driver brakes hard and the kid goes flying. Anything here?

A woman accused of leaving the scene of a traffic accident last month where an investigating Houston police officer was later killed has been charged with two felonies and is believed to have fled again — this time, to Mexico.

Houston police have issued a warrant for the arrest of Francisca Cortez, 28. Authorities said they believe she is the driver who struck two motorcyclists on Interstate 610 near Yale on May 29. While investigating that wreck, Officer Kevin Will was fatally struck by a suspected drunken driver.

In a probable cause affidavit filed Friday in Harris County, police revealed that Cortez’s relatives have said she is in Mexico with her children. Court records also detail an effort in the hours after her crash to mislead authorities about her whereabouts and the location of her white Chevrolet Suburban during the time of the accident.

                              Motorcyclists dragged
Cortez is charged with two counts of failure to stop and render aid in an accident resulting in serious bodily injury. The wreck happened just as Luis Almendarez and Tracey Alexander entered the freeway on their bikes headed east around 2 a.m. After the men were hit from behind and thrown from their motorcycles, the SUV motorist "continued to drive, dragging the motorcycles approximately 1,000 feet before the vehicle came to rest on the shoulder of I-610," the complaint said.

On Monday, Almendarez was in fair condition at Ben Taub General Hospital, an upgrade from graver earlier reports that he was on life support. Alexander suffered from road rash, bruises and cuts.

Court documents allege that after hitting the bikers, the SUV driver got out and attempted to pull the motorcycles from under her vehicle, but got back in the Suburban and left the scene without giving any information.

In an interview with police, a man who saw the crash and called 911 said the SUV ran over one man before dragging the motorcycles "until she was not able to drive anymore." That witness, also a driver along I-610, made contact with the SUV driver and told her not to leave before he went to check on the injured men on the direction of the emergency dispatcher speaking with him on his cell phone.

"As he went to check on (the men), the woman left the scene," court records say.

While the man was giving a statement to Will, a motorist went past the police barricade and fatally struck the patrolman.

                              Identified from photo
The witness identified Cortez from a photo. Police also contacted a brother and sister of Cortez. According to the complaint, the brother said that he became worried in the early hours of May 29 when Cortez did not come home. When he finally reached her by phone, Cortez said something had happened and then hung up, the complaint said.

Later that evening, Cortez returned home and told her brother that she was in an accident involving a motorcycle on I-610 around 2 a.m. He said she "appeared very nervous and then called their mother in Mexico."

Shortly after, Cortez told her brother that "she was leaving for Mexico and she gathered some belongings and her children and left Houston immediately for Mexico," court records said.

The brother also told police that he has called his sister multiple times in the last two weeks and verified that she is in Mexico, the complaint said. The sister also gave police similar information.

Houston police also discovered that the SUV was reported stolen by Cortez just before 5 p.m. on May 29. According to the criminal complaint, Cortez met with a Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputy that day and reported that she had finished working that morning and parked her Suburban east of her trailer before she went to bed, but when she awoke around noon, the vehicle was missing. The SUV was recovered late May 29 in the 9000 block of Jensen and had damage consistent with being in a wreck, the complaint said.

Johoan Rodriguez has been charged in Will’s death and remains in the Harris County jail.

                                by Vlad Orekhov

                                Part 1: Dogs.
Do you want a pet? Do you know what kind of pet? Do you know how to name it? I’m going to tell what kind of pet is the best to get. But if you don’t have the responsibility to take care of your pet if it poops, wants to go outside, hungry, or other staff and you can’t do anything for the pet because you are lazy or busy… then don’t get a pet. So let’s start of with the human’s best friend, I’m talking about dogs of course. Should you get a female or male dog? Some people think that females are easier to handle because they are more obedient. But some of people are wrong. Just think about your sister (or any girl) and you will see what I mean. So I will say you should better get a male dog. How about the dog’s age? If you get a puppy that means you need to train the puppy and not being angry when the puppy eats up your any trading cards. There are a lot of adult dogs in the animal shelter and 60% of them end up being put to sleep. So if you get an adult dog the dog will not eat your cards wont poop in your house but in the dog’s toilet, but if you train your dog to go to the human toilet you will all ways have to flush after your dog. And plus you will save a dog’s life if you get one. So you have a dog now you have to name it. But if you want to name your dog be original. Here is the list of the most popular names for dogs and cats. Millions of pets have already have these names: Max, Sam, Lady, Bear, Smokey, Shadow, Kitty, Buddy, Brandy, Ginger, Baby, Misty, Missy, Pepper, Jake, Bandit, Tiger (or Tigger), Samantha, Lucky, Muffin (or Muffy), Princess, Maggie, Charlie, Sheba, Rocky, Patches, Rusty, Buster, Casey, Sadie, Riley, and Midnight. Believe it or not Fido and Rover don’t get used much so you can use it. Hey here’s an idea: If you get that has bad breath call it a “Germy shepherd”! (Sorry about that.)

Part 2: Special Feature: Dog Safety Tips.
                                Lesson 1: Train your dog!!!
Train your dog not to go insane when the when a mail carrier comes to the door, also don’t allow your dog not to attack the mail as it comes through the mail slot, that will only teach the dog to attack not guilty mail.
Lesson 2: A strange Dog Approaches you!!!
Stand still and pretend to be a tree until the dog leaves. Practice this with a stuffed dog. If the stuffed dog bites you, take it to an animal doctor or a psychiatrist, if that does not solve the problem, take yourself to an animal doctor or psychiatrist.
Lesson 3: The dog is aggressive!!!
If the dog tries to bite you, feed it your jacket, homework, bicycle, cat, or anything else that makes a barrier between you and the dog.
Lesson 4: That insane dog bit you!!!
Wash that wound then report that wound to your closest local animal control center. Tell the person on the phone everything you know about that dog. If the dog stray tell him/her how the dog looked or which direction it went.

                                Part 3: Cats
Ok if you don’t want a dog then get a cat. (I’m going to tell you a little about cats because I’m tried already.) Cats are pretty quiet and lovable, and they don’t need a lot of interaction either.
Cats are like girls. They don’t like to do what they are told to do. You never know what they are thinking. You never know why they do the things they do. Even they don’t know why they do the things they do! See just like girls. Some people call this mysterious. Puh-leeze. There is nothing mysterious about hair balls!

                                Part 4: Pick a pet!
So if you want to get a cat get one, but dogs are better in million times. If someone breaks into your house your cat will look at the bandit and then go to the next room to get a nap until the bandit gets your money and kills everyone in the house, but the dog will attack the bandit and drive him away. So pick cat, dog, or a gold fish which you only have to feed and is boring, but you can play with the kitten but when it’s older it get bored and lives in the dark evil basement. Come on pick a pet I gave you some ideas! When you get a pet don’t feed it until you hear something from the pet say something about food. Then jump out saying: Ah-ha!!! Then the pet will happy to talk to you about cats, dogs, or even sports. Ok that wraps it up. Bye!!!
Fine chaz!!! It is a speech actually!

A while back I purchased a motorcycle carrier off ebay to transport my Ninja 250. With the carrier being rated at 400 pounds and the Ninja at 335lbs, this was all fine.

Well, I’m looking to upgrade to a 86 Ninja 600. The new bike would weigh in at around 400lbs exactly.

Now I know your never supposed to exceed the specs and its taking a risk etc etc. I’m talking in reality here, every company would underrate safety specs, for safety!

This thing is pretty damn solid, and pretty basic. The platform is aluminum but the main structure is thick steel. How much would you all say is a "true" max load??

I have a Schwinn Voyageur AL Hybrid Bike and would like to buy a trailer to take my children with me. I am looking specifically at the Schwinn Express Bike Trailer. Also, I am interested in the InStep Rocket Aluminum Bike Trailer if anyone knows if that would fit my Schwinn bike. Thanks!
