I have a Boston Terrier (18lbs) and I want to take her riding with me. Is it better to get a box carrier to go on the rear rack or a trailer? By better I mean safer for both Lola and myself and something easy that she would enjoy. I should mention that I live in a city and bikes are currently not allowed on the sidewalks. Also, are there any brands or products that you recommend? Thank you for your help!!!
I’m 33 years old, and I have a two year old son who I would like to take with me on bike rides. I have no idea what I should be looking for when purchasing a bike, but I am looking for something that would be great exercise, and can accommodate a child trailer. Speaking of which, I’m also looking for a recommendation on a child trailer, too!
does anyone know what I am talking about, lol. I seen it in a flyer once but I’m looking for the name of a product, it’s a type of bycyle seat for doubling children, (: term for doubling another on a bike) It doesn’t go in the front but on the frame of the bike and it looks like a booster seat and the child sits on it with both legs on either side instead of one sitting sideways without one, and the child sits in front of the person peddling the bike, behind the handle bars.
I seen it in a flyer once but never bothered to take down the name of it or bothered to keep the flyer. and it was being sold by a company so I think it’s legal to use one.
I just need to know the name of the seat, or whatever it is called. I know it’s a very long shot here and I wouldn’t be asking at all if i didn’t know so, does anyone please know what I am talking about here?
Thanks.
Yes, that is EXACTLY what I am talkin about. Thank you so much !!
I have a 2 inch receiver on my hitch and I’m using a adapter within the extension to tighten down the bolt into the receiver and I noticed it wobble a little bit. The same thing happened with my bike rack, maybe 1/4 inch at the most it wobbles. I plan on tying down a cooler and and some sleeping bags and other little misc. camping items I thinking I should be fine. But I wanted to ask someone just in case they have been through this before.
thanks for any feedback
Do you think any of the items tied down would fall off of the carrier? It’s just a flat piece of metal with 2 1/2 inch walls if that.
So I changed the cables to my derailleurs and when I’m riding with the bike it seems to shift ok, both front and rear, but I find when I’m towing a baby carrier (attaches to the rear triangle via the rear quick release skewer), I can’t seem to shift into the big ring up front. It doesn’t seem to make any sense why it would make any difference with the trailer attached, but it seems to….
Any ideas?
Thanks!
Thanks
I guess it’s the extra strain and wt that is doing it.
the quick release isn’t actually holding the carrier, it holds a bolt thing next to the tire that holds the carrier, the way the manufacturer says
I can’t ride a bike myself and am a little nervous about teaching my 6 year old. I really need step by step advice by someone who has taught their child that goes a little beyond ‘hold on to the back of the seat and run along side your child’. Many thanks!

I really love the idea of a front end seat like the weeride that holds a child. I think its so much better than the ones that fasten behind you or the separate carts that roll behind the entire bike. But I had read I cant use the weeride until my daughter is 4. Well, right now she is 7 and a half months and I would really like to start getting around with her on my bike.. especially when it starts getting warmer out. Is there anything that is safe to use with a child that young?
Ì have a pretty cheap mtb, I want to accumulate parts to eventually build a good bike. I would love the control and safety that discs offer. The frame i have does not fave mounts for a calliper per say, however it has 2 bolt holes which i think would normally be used for a carrier or maybe a mud gaurd. They’re pretty standard on bottom end bikes. 2 holes located above the rear dropouts on each side of the bike. Can i get adaptors or something to bolt into these and then provide the proper spacing for a disc brake calliper? Surely somebody has designed a solution to this problem?
I am a high school teacher who likes to get part time jobs over the summer. This summer, one of my jobs will be working as kennel help in my county’s humane society. It’s located in the next town over and I plan on riding my road bike. I want to take my dog Bernie to work with me. The distance is much too far (about 5-7 miles) to consider a simple bike basket–it just wouldn’t be safe for him. What I would like to do is mount a rear attaching rack that attaches to both the seat and the back wheel and then attach a small dog carrier (my pup is only about 14 pounds) securely to the rack. Here are my questions:
What would be a good rack to purchase for this purpose?
What is the most secure way to attach the rack?
What is the best method for attaching the carrier? (All I can think to do is drill holes in the bottom of the carrier, zip tie it to the rack, and then cover the bottom of the carrier with a carpet remnant).
Is this project worth attempting?
Constructive help only, please
Call my family trashy if that’s what it is, but what ever happened to letting our kids be kids?
I’ve seen mothers freak out if there kids run around outside with no shoes on. I’ve seen mothers freak out over children not wearing helmets while riding a bike. I’ve seen moms freak out over kids not washing their hands before they eat.
Call me what you wish, but I grew up barefoot, riding bikes in the street, and eating with unwashed hands, and here I am… ALIVE. Shocking right?
I was listening to a song… and it got me thinking… Heres some of the lyrics..
"We were born to mothers who smoked and drank
Our cribs were covered in lead based paint
No child proof lids no seat belts in cars
Rode bikes with no helmets and still here we are, still here we are
We got daddy’s belt when we misbehaved
Had three TV channels you got up to change
No video games and no satellite
All we had were friends and they were outside, playin’ outside"
"School always started the same every day
The pledge of allegiance then someone would pray
Not every kid made the team when they tried
We got disappointed and that was all right, we turned out all right"
Can someone tell me what happened? Why does everyone have their head up their booty now?

It’s a 2 door car but has back seats… You think I can fit it or I should also buy a bike carrier?
if you think yes any ideas how to?
lol in it’s usable condition
It’s where you’re on a bike and you have your child in his seat on your bike and you go down this staircase and you have to use to arrow keys to keep them from dying and tipping over. It’s something with "happy" in the title I think.
I cant get a car (no money) and my bike is making me so sore i can hardly pick my daughter up. I was looking into buying an electric scooter and was then wondering how am i going to transport her in it.
I need something motorized that does not need a license, and runs on the sidewalk.

I used to own a 1974 Yamaha and had it for quite a few years. Unfortunately, since I could not legally drive it on the streets and there were quite a few mechanical problems. So now I was looking into finally getting another bike. So..
I started looking at a Yamaha R6 Raven. But after sitting on it for a little while, it just didn’t feel right. But I thought I would try another year. However, during my time at a dealer down here, I found a Triumph Daytona 675. I am 5’10" and it felt so much better. But I had a couple questions…
1) Have any of you ridden a Daytona 675? If so, how would you review it?
2) Have you ever used a alarm system/immobilizer for your bike?
3) Is there any other kind of sport bikes that are made for taller people?
4) Have you ever used gel seat cushions on your bike?
Also, I am going to be transporting my bike, and I know how difficult it is to get it into the back of my truck by myself. So I looked into this "Sport Motorcycle Carrier" which connects to your tail hook of your truck.
Any other info you may have, tips, or whatever kinds of things along that line is appreciated. But please, no BS, I want advice from real people, not idiotic comments or just links. Thanks a lot.
