What is a good child carrier for a bicycle?

I’m looking for something for a 5yo that weighs about 32lbs. I want something that can be fairly easy to change from one bike to another. Thanks for letting me know!

What's the point of car roof siderails?

If you want to carry anything like snowboards, bike racks, carriers, you need to buy a crossbars to build on top of the siderails. What’s the point of selling cars with just siderails with no crossbars then? Are there any roof rack makers that make products to work with just the siderails?

I was thinking of getting one. I liked the Kangaroo and the ibert. Has anyone used these? Bobike looks cool, but I think they only sell those overseas. I live in Ohio!!

A note for BMXpert…I think you are rude. My question posted twice because yahoo said there was an error when I submitted it. So I re submitted. That is why it is on multiple times. The same goes for the added details. So I was not trying to add spam.

How to bike and jog with three children?

We have three children, 4, 3 and 1. We are trying to figure out how to bike with them this year, the 4 and 3 year old often get tired and want to sit down. Anyone have any advice? Two trailers would work if there are two adults only. I am also a runner and was wondering if there are any double joggers with a little seat (like the sit and stand) for a third child.

I need a bike to get from my car to university and back (so I don’t have to pay 200$s for a pass every semester) how much does a simple bike, it’s carrier for a car and the lock thing cost>? (the cheapest option)..

                    thanks

and do you think it’s worth getting?
the car is too small to fit the bike… and university isn’t that close to my house to just ride there

i have an old ritchey ascent comp mtn bike. it is a steel frame with brazens for fenders and i already put on a rear carrier. i also switched out the typical mtn bike wheels for 700cc. still with the flat mtn bike handlebar positioning i get a generous amount of hand fatigue and lower back pain. was wondering if their is away to get a more upright riding stance and also generate Various hand positions. the ritchey has a 1" stem i’m not sure if that will make things difficult, i think stems are 1"1/2 now. Do not want to spend a fortune (otherwise i would put towards a new bike) but would be willing to spend about 0. thanks for any thoughts. cheers.

I scratched a car with my bike!?

so i had to ride to school 3 miles mostly up. i go to school and we have to run 2 miles. so then i am riding home and this kid runs up and says grab this and so i try to and i swerve and scratch this car. i was so tired.oh and my seat kept on falling down all the time. it wasn’t tight and a teacher tried helping me with that before i swerved. after i Hit the car i had to go home and didn’t want to get in trouble. i would definitely pay if the owner got in contact with me. it was completely an accident. my friends were sitting and saw it. if the owner came would they tell them. i am a really smart and well behaved child so i didn’t want to tell my parents that this happened because what if the owner never said anything. it was honda silver i think. i gave it a big scratch. I am wondering what is going to happen to me. will i find out the next day if they caught me. the school is right Next to the san diego zoo, what if it was a tourist. i don’t and neither does my parents, have enough money to pay for a scratch. i am so sad. can someone please help me
so far i’v told my mom and she was so cool about it. the teachers know about it and i think i scratched my favorite teacher’s car. woops well then he won’t sue me. he can get really mad. good thing i have an a in his class

Would like to take 3-4 aluminum framed bikes halfway across the country next summer. How well do these style racks work. Any trouble with damage to vehicle? How about blockage of tail lights or license plates? Are the bikes secure or do they move around? Thanks for any relevant info.

What will the liberals think of this poem?

Her hair was up in a pony tail,
her favorite dress tied with a bow.
Today was Daddy’s Day at school,
and she couldn’t wait to go.

But her mommy tried to tell her,
that she probably should stay home.
Why the kids might not understand,
if she went to school alone.

                                But she was not afraid;
she knew just what to say.
                                What to tell her classmates
of why he wasn’t there today.

                                But still her mother worried,
for her to face this day alone.
And that was why once again,
she tried to keep her daughter home.

But the little girl went to school
                                eager to tell them all.
About a dad she never sees
                                a dad who never calls.
There were daddies along the wall in back,
                                for everyone to meet.
                                Children squirming impatiently,
                                anxious in their seats

One by one the teacher called
                                a student from the class.
                                To introduce their daddy,
                                as seconds slowly passed.

At last the teacher called her name,
                                every child turned to stare.
                                Each of them was searching,
                                a man who wasn’t there.

                                "Where’s her daddy at?"
She heard a boy call out.
                                "She probably doesn’t have one,"
                                another student dared to shout.

And from somewhere near the back,
                                she heard a daddy say,
                                "Looks like another deadbeat dad,
too busy to waste his day."

The words did not offend her,
as she smiled up at her Mom.
And looked back at her teacher,
who told her to go on.
And with hands behind her back,
                                slowly she began to speak.
And out from the mouth of a child,
                                came words incredibly unique.

                                "My Daddy couldn’t be here,
because he lives so far away.
But I know he wishes he could be,
since this is such a special day.

And though you cannot meet him,
                                I wanted you to know.
                                All about my daddy,
and how much he loves me so.

He loved to tell me stories
he taught me to ride my bike.
He surprised me with pink roses,
and taught me to fly a kite.

We used to share fudge sundaes,
and ice cream in a cone.
And though you cannot see him.
                                I’m not standing here alone.

"Cause my daddy’s always with me,
                                even though we are apart
I know because he told me,
he’ll forever be in my heart"
With that, her little hand reached up,
                                and lay across her chest.
                                Feeling her own heartbeat,
                                beneath her favorite dress.

And from somewhere here in the crowd of dads,
                                her mother stood in tears.
                                Proudly watching her daughter,
who was wise beyond her years.

For she stood up for the love
of a man not in her life.
Doing what was best for her,
                                doing what was right.

And when she dropped her hand back down,
                                staring straight into the crowd.
She finished with a voice so soft,
but its message clear and loud.

"I love my daddy very much,
                                he’s my shining star.
And if he could, he’d be here,
                                but heaven’s just too far.

You see he is a Marine
and died just this past year
When a roadside bomb hit his convoy
                                and taught Americans to fear.
But sometimes when I close my eyes,
it’s like he never went away."
And then she closed her eyes,
and saw him there that day.

                                And to her mothers amazement,
                                she witnessed with surprise.
A room full of daddies and children,
all starting to close their eyes.

Who knows what they saw before them,
who knows what they felt inside.
                                Perhaps for merely a second,
they saw him at her side.

"I know you’re with me Daddy,"
to the silence she called out.
And what happened next made believers,
of those once filled with doubt.

Not one in that room could explain it,
for each of their eyes had been closed.
But there on the desk beside her,
was a fragrant long-stemmed pink rose.

And a child was blessed, if only for a moment,
by the love of her shining star.
And given the gift of believing,
that heaven is never too far.
They say it takes a minute to find a special
person, an hour to appreciate them,
a day to love them, but then an entire
                                life to forget them.

Send this to the people you’ll never forget and
remember to send it also to the person that sent
it to you. It’s a short message to let them know
                                that you’ll never forget them.

If you don’t send it to anyone, it means you’re
in a hurry and that you’ve forgotten your
                                friends.

Take the time…to live and love!
                                Until eternity. God bless!

Where can i get this Dog Carrier?

I’ve seen someone by the beach uses a Rectangular Back Pack Hard Case Pet carrier. That has 3 ventilation areas, 2 by the side and 1 in the middle. Ventilation areas can be covered up by the adjustable flaps. Apparently, when i tried searching online for a bag like the other owner.. there wasn’t 1 place that sells. All of the online stores are selling soft canvas material. I ride a bike and i think hard case will be a more comfy choice for my little one. Anyone has any idea on where to get one?

I’ve a need to keep my expenses to a bare min. Thus can afford no insurance, nor license fees. But I need motor transport. I’m interested in building a "powered bike". But the monies available do not allow for batteries.

It’s sad how we treat wounded policemen / Marines from time to time in this country. Any fool can allege child support is need to raise a motorcycle "club" member’s child and a smuggler’s child and refuse a law enforcer access to ‘our courts" on behalf of what essentially are well off hooligans. Apparently; for decades.

                                    And no end in sight.

I can put said generator on a trailer I’ve got. With the roll cage on the generator this should be substancially less dangerous than unprotected Acid Batteries, which might shock a fellow to death, explode or burn one with acid upon impact. I’ve seizures fro time to time, though the mob scares people into denying this, I feel, given the medical health care professionals seem conent to forget about the 23 bullet wounds suffered whilst wearing your badges as well. So I fear the more obviously legal method of powering a bike really shouldn’t do, when there is an availability of multiple roll cages.

With the engine throttled down with a throttle stop, shouldn’t this comply with regulations keeping the power on engine powered bikes below 1/3 hp? It should be easy enough to measure 1/3 of 750 Watts.

It is a generator after all.

Or would I need to convert this to a more polluting 2 stroke?
Perhaps I did not make it clear enough, I’ve no funds for batteries and I already have a few regulated AC motors that are quite compatible with the generator’s AC power / and though I didn’t note this before it has DC outlets in anycase.

And I don’t get the reasoning that gell cells are the least bit safe. Gell Cells might not spill but they do gas hydrogen whilst recharging as far as I know and thus are a slight explosion hazard, and the gell as far as I know is still acidic and will burn (it "just" won’t run off, but like napalm compared to a molotov cocktail will stick "better" ~ to my mind I can’t see the advantage from a safety to the neighborhood children’s standpoint should I seize and get hit by a car ~ worst case sending off exploding battery gell to stick to them like glue and burn with acid whilst their chinese made clohing catches fire and roasts them with flame…). Am I wrong and diaper batte technology was really not developed to solve recharge "moisture loss"? (sic)

                                        Good vehicle for college student?

I am a male college student and it is time for me to buy a car. I used to drive a 2dr cavalier but I think I want something a bit bigger. I am thinking probably a small SUV of some sort or a hatch back. I need something that gets decent mileage ( mid 20′s or close to it) and enough room to carry all of my stuff and my friends gear on our random camping trips and adventures (Eagle Scouts refuse to stay indoors!) I will need to have a rack or at least be a car that has options for adding racks and bike carriers (more than likely 2 mountain bikes). At the same time, I want something that is not infamous for tearing up. I would prefer AWD or 4×4. What do you think? Does anyone have a vehicle like this for sale? I am definitely NOT made of money but I am not going to buy a money pit OR something that lasts 2 months. I need something that will last at least my 4 years of college.
