I want to buy a bike and someone offered me a jamis boss cruiser at a very good price. I’m thinking about using this bike during the weekends on local parks and trails. I have a two year old daughter that will be riding on a back seat. The bike trails in my area are mixed, but most are unpaved. Should I go ahead and get this boss cruiser or should I look for something else?

Ok I have a InStep child’s bike trailer that I want to attach to my mountain bike. I had a fixie that I used to remove one of the hex nuts on one side and attach the washer/attachment for the trailer and then put the hex nut back on. I sold my fixie and got a mountain bike which has quick release wheels, and I cannot figure out how to get the washer/attachment piece to go on for the trailer! Can anyone help?! Thanks!

take my chihuahua on the five borough bike tour?

I want to know if anyone knows anything about whether or not I can take my chihuahua… in a bike basket… on the five borough bike tour. i’ve seen so many things having done this two times before but no small pets. you’d hardly be able to see him since he’ll be in a sporty little front carrier that has a zipped top rain cover. anyone know? i really want to do this.

I’m looking for something that will attach to a regular bicycle seat (12" bike) or replace the bike’s original seat. It would need to have back support as well as a seat belt. I’ve searched on the Internet and only found one, which didn’t look like it would provide enough support.

Taga: from a bike to a stroller in 20 seconds

Taga is a multifunctional urban vehicle, uniquely designed to suit the needs of today’s parents and children. Taga combines the benefits of a premium stroller and a carrier bicycle to create a new transportation modality. Safe, Reliable and fun, Taga lets parents and kids move about the city easily, transforming a typical daily journey into an exciting adventure. When reaching the desired destination, whether a shop, cafe, indoor playground or a friend’s house, Taga is converted within seconds into a stroller, allowing parent and child to conveniently enter the premises, ride an elevator or ascend steps. There is no need to lock Taga outside and no parts are left behind. Taga can also be taken on the underground, train, bus or any other means of public transportation, offering continuous riding to and from any destination. The Taga Difference * Taga is able to carry you to longer distances than a stroller – and offers much more fun for the parent and child * Taga is more modular, manoueverbale and convenient than a bicycle – and much safer for riding with kids * Taga is more cost effective than a car – and much better for the environment and your well-being Emotions in Motion Taga is both a motional and an emotional experience. Parents and children are able to communicate while riding to create an ongoing emotional bond. Moving around with Taga and exploring the city together, each ride becomes a joyfully shared time. Truly an enriching parenting experience.

The Law states I can have a 1000 Watt motor. The Law says I can have a 1/3 hp engine. The law says nothing about how I charge the motor though. The 2.4 hp engine on the generator will fit the bike trailer I’ve got nicely. It makes less fumes than the average 1/3 hp gas 2 stroke bike engine. I can’t "go any faster" (in fact less fast) using the combination of a 1000 Watt motor powered by this generator. And I’m not going to be less safe (the motor and gas container will be in a double roll cage ~ that supplied by the trailer and that on the generator itself). There is nothing at all protecting the gas tank or hot engine parts on a bike with a typical engine ~ fall off this onto a child with a seizure and the kid might get burned ~ not so with a bike trailing a gas generator.

The State says I’ve the capacity to earn ,000 per year as a Marine, after being wounded 23 times on duty and tossed out as AOL after I could not recall ever being a Marine (I do now and know it was Al Qaida infiltrators that caused this amnesia with massive amounts of dope whist I lay in my barracks). I feel it’s irrational that I be asked to stay at home and after 23 bullet wounds on duty that I pedal my own bike.
Get r Done does in no way answer the question of legality.

Does a generator on a bike constitute an illegal "drive unit"? Or is it legally considered merely a batery charger, even if on a bike trailer, and thus exempt from automotive exhaust restrictions ?

Are excessory engines on trailers, such as gas powered compressor motors on referigerator trailers for frozen food delivery trucks exempt from the emmissions laws? Do generators on RV’s need to be emmission reg. compatable as if they were primary movers?

And if considered a prime mover, there’s a ruling placed a trailer made from a Rabbit cut up into a two wheeled trailer and used as a prime mover. Done for long tours for one fellow’s electric auto this was ruled a trailer nonetheless and thus exempt from additional licensing / insurance requirements. If the same ruling holds true for a like equipped bike trailer no required licenses or insurance !

Thus a cop crippled on the job though ruled deadbeat dad might ride on!

    Are Walmart bikes worth buying?

My wife and I want to ride bikes during the summer and need to buy everything, 2 adult bikes, a child seat, three helmets, and a bike holder for our car. We noticed prices at walmart are really cheap compared to other stores in the area. I understand they are of lesser quality, but do you recommend Walmart bikes and extras for a family of beginners?

    The Cost of War

One mile of 5487grave markers, each one representing an American killed in Iraq or Afghanistan. A simple, stunning memorial erected by the Madison (WI) Veterans for Peace, Chapter 25, for Memorial Day 2010. Markers erected along Madison’s Atwood Avenue, in Olbrich Park. Small blue flags represent 107 Wisconsin deaths. Drive-by movie created by Jim Carrier, director of the Wisconsin Film School, and shot by filmmaker Brian Standing, who rigged a tripod on a bicycle child carrier. Film shot May 31, 2010. Director’s note: I pretty much left the film as shot, in one take, with all the bumps, detours, traffic noise — and, of course, nearly five minutes of unending, almost dizzying, sorrow. To me it contains powerful symbols, including passing cars burning oil from the Mideast, oblivious walkers, the sound of bumps eerily echoing tramping boots, and patches of grass at beginning and end, marking the period before 9/11 without war, and a space where new grave markers will be added in the days and months ahead. Pass it on. Jim Carrier, director Wisconsin Film School

The dimension of the box are: L=42.5" H=31" W=11" Weight is 37 lbs – Shipping this regular via DHL (the cheapest) will cost my sorry a$$ a whopping 581.34 cents. Are there any cheaper alternatives? Any ‘out of the box’ ideas are greatly appreciated.

Family vs Ridability in a Road Bike?

Can you use a road bike as a family bike (possibly pulling a trailer or even a rear wheel child seat)? My other option is a Hybrid, but that would preclude the potential to go on organized road rides. Someone help me weight pros/cons. Thx.
